I'm inept and need your help.

How does one go about adding or changing a banner on a LJ? And then, how does one adjust the other colors to match?

If you haven't noticed, my LJ is very minimalistic (and I like it that way) but, yeah, most of you should be able to figure out why I'm asking this and the icon is a big hint.

HALP!

Well, I know they changed the set up shortly after I tinkered with mine, but it looks like everything is fairly similar, just laid out differently. Skip the first page by clicking the "customize" button then on the sidebar click "Custom CSS"

Since it should have custom CSS, I would think the only thing you'd have to do is insert the new header URL in the place of the old one. If it's not the exact same size, it may look a bit odd though.

Okay, that sound easy enough but how do I change like the font colors and the like?

Hmm. Well if you go to "style" on the sidebar, is should let you change font colors and the like unless the CSS is for the full page, in which case you'll have to change it manually within the CSS. That can be a bit trickier and mean much more frustration as there is no "preview" feature. You'll have to go through saving changes then viewing the comm, then if it doesn't suit, you'll have to go back to the first step. Did I mention frustrating? Heh.

Yeah it's the second one. I know the new one doesn't clash with what we have now, but I'm anal and want to match-y match. I'll play with it when my schedule decides to free up a bit. That should be sometime next year...
