Honestly, I'm not entirely comfortable with this chapter. It's not the attempted rape per se: I've read enough h/c fanfic for that not to bother me. It's just that it seems unnecessary and out of character for Belle. Part of the appeal of the character is that she's a woman who is positive about and feels comfortable with sex and isn't about promoting the negative aspects.
Also, having Belle and Peter's reconciliation come from making her the Damsel in Distress and him the White Knight is so...obvious. I was actually hoping for something more original and cracktastic.
I don't was to seem too down on you. I've enjoyed this fic so far and appreciated how adult it is. By that I don't mean the porn (well, OK, that's part of it), but the mature understanding that love and sex maybe shouldn't be as intertwined as society makes them. However, since I've enjoyed this fic so much up to this point, I really felt I should say something when the story took a right-hand turn like this.
