So, on Tuesday, I decided to buy myself an earlier birthday present. Thursday night, I went to Indy to a concert. No, that's not the right word for it. It was an event.

Never before have I felt so loved, accepted, important and even beautiful. And that was all thanks to our host of the Ball. It was the Monster Ball and she was a real lady.

gaga
Yeah, my seat was that awesome.

She was incredible. She's beautiful. Not as thin as I had imagined. She changed an insane amount of times. The opening band was meh, but she made up for it. She took the stage promptly at 9:00 PM and finished a little after 11:00. No real breaks. Just little video vignettes between set changes. She was all out the entire time.

I have been to seven fantastic shows in the past 15 months. The Killers are always great. Franz Ferdinand rocked my socks (and gifted me this icon). Snow Patrol was fun. Muse was everything I heard about them and more. Last year, I can fairly say seeing Coldplay changed my life. Gaga made me feel like my life was important. I know it's weird to say, but she can make anyone feel wonderful. She uses her powers good at least.

If you want to see all my pics (all 180 of them), click here. I haven't uploaded the videos yet.

And now to spend the next few days playing catch up. My inbox for email is insane at the moment. Not even going to try to catch up the flist.

I believe I have four pictures to catch up on and this is number three.

This is what happens when I leave the fridge opened for more than a few seconds.

It can take a while to get him back out.

I was/am sick. It's still the same thing that's been around since the end of December. I brought a laundry list of issues. Determined what I've long suspected, I have IBS but there's not much that can be done about it except avoid the foods that cause the most issues. There was a possibility of thyroid issues (which there weren't). So blood was taken. That was an adventure. I had a vein blow. The nurse said it was going to bruise. I don't bruise easily so I thought it would be no big thing.

Under a cut if you're especially adverse to bruises )

misssara11: (DW Hi!)
Have you missed me? It's only been a month since I've posted anything. Barely kept up with the flist either. Lots of stuff have gone down. Been sick. Almost had a nervous breakdown (possibly due to bening sick). Been completely sucked into Big Brother UK (and it's fair to say that these two are a good part of that. It doesn't hurt that the male half looks like this plus an Australian accent to boot! And trust me, their dramas could give soap operas a run for their money.) And then there's what I did Thursday day night (if you follow my Twitter you know what I did) but more on that later. I have pictures to catch up with! There will be kitties as that's mainly what I've taken pictures of.

We bug bombed the house a few weeks ago so the kitties went to visit the office and explored. Cassie made herself comfortable.

Be back later with another pic!

Would have posted sooner, but been out all day.

I bring you...FEET!

FEET!

And other adorbleness my cats did this week. Totally worth the click. Promise. )

I need one more picture to be caught up with a picture for every week! And technically this picture was taken this week. On Sunday actually in the airport, while I was waiting for the line to check my luggage, this little guy landed two seats down from me and then jumped to where you see here.

Maybe he was there to catch a flight! Get it? Is this thing on?
misssara11: (Blackpool- Sleeping Peter)
The reason why I didn't post last week's picture is that I was busy with the worst trip ever (my stomach will lurch for the foresee-able future when I hear the words "glass-bottom boat") and it topped off with me being sick for the past week and doesn't show signs of slowing and is resistant to any medication I'm throwing at it. And I was careful to drink bottled water! Apparently just brushing your teeth is enough!

However, the trip wasn't about me. As such I kept my complaints to here and Twitter. This trip was for my baby (half-)brother.

May I present to you my little brother Kerry and his lovely bride, Suzanne:

On Thursday I kept hearing this tweeting outside the window in my living room. Finally I went to the door to see where it was coming from. I discovered it was outside the window where I was sitting! This is what I found:

Baby Robin

It probably sat there, happily chirping away for an hour or so. You can tell it's still a baby because of the downy feathers on it (which you can see by clicking for the full size). My mom saw the mama yesterday and said she was huge.

I was going to continue the food theme from last week and post a picture of the BBQ chicken pizza this week. But the was too cute not to post. They are holding paws!

Finally!

Did anyone else have issues with LJ and Photobucket earlier today? I would have totally posted this earlier today but for the issues.

Anywhoodle, one of my favorite places to get lunch from when I'm at the office job is Spyro's Pancake House. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. They have lunch specials every week day and the food is fabulous. If you click the link, you'll see the regular menu is very extensive. When you get some of the breakfast meals, you can get pancakes instead of toast. You get two basic sized ones and they are yummy. Last time I got bacon and eggs, they forgot the pancakes and they said they would keep record of it and get us next time.

On Thursday the lunch special was a salad with chicken, feta and strawberries. It was supposed to come with a raspberry vinaigrette, which they forgot. (Fear not, we had plenty of others on hand.) We got the pancakes as well. Instead of the two, however they gave me a short stack. Didn't expect three dinner plates! Here they are with utensils to give you scale.

The New York Times Photo Blog had this thing that [livejournal.com profile] kalleah brought to my attention. The info is here. Basically, then wanted you to take a picture of what was happening wherever you were in the world at the same exact moment. They go many more entries than expected but eventually they will have a mosaic of all the photos but not quite yet. I thought it appropriate to use my entry for my pic this week.

This happened at 11:00 AM at my house this past Sunday. (Click for the full size!)
A Moment in Time

Side note: I have yet to stop being amused by the fact the kitten in my icon and the Kitten Virtual Gift look just like Grey.

And to finish the catch up, to celebrate the end of the semester, I will show where I spent most of my time, my classroom.

First, my view from the instructor's computer/desk.

So I didn't finish my catch up last week. I will do so this week with two posts!

First is something I'm excited about. I never had a passport until now.

Obligatory kitty picture post!

Cassie had a thing for Dairy Queen bags. Grey took a shining to this Burger King bag. (I could never get a shot of him while he lifted his head though.)

There's going to be three of these, so prepare yourselves!

The week of the last post, the rainbow, I had taken these photos of my backyard. There were a bluejay, a male cardinal and a female cardinal hoping about. (As per usual, click for the full size.)

Birds!
More details of each here )
misssara11: (Default)
I was going to post a picture of the two cardinals and bluejay in my backyard yesterday, but today, after it stopped raining, I saw one of the most amazing sights I've ever seen and it was real. And so right for this weekend. I truly felt God's presence just by going grocery shopping!

These were taken with my phone's camera. I couldn't pull back far enough to catch the ends. You could see the entire arc, beginning to end! I've never seen a fully arc in person before! Just a single side. In fact, there was a much dimmer side on the left that wasn't very clear.

This was truly awe-inspiring.

On a completely different note: GO BULLDOGS!

Shoes...

This week isn't so much about the subject matter, but how it was taken. I got a new cell phone and this was to test the camera on it. And yes, it's a picture of my beaten up, well-worn, slip-on Chucks.

misssara11: (FF Alex-Cheers!)
I'm using a picture from last week for this week. Click for full size!

MUSE!

Notice where the guitar is. The drummer (Dom) was not happy with the guitar player (Matt) and motioned for a roadie right away to come remove the offending item!
misssara11: (FF Alex-Cheers!)
This is very late because I was a bit busy. But here's a preview of upcoming post!

misssara11: (Cheshire #3)
This post was originally going to go up much earlier but things went wrong. I was at work at the office job from around 1:00 until 9:00. And I'm going back tomorrow. But I'll discuss that later.

I love all things Alice in Wonderdland, as many of you know. So, this was a big week for me. Last week I purchased a necklace that was released because of the movie, but I thought it tied in to the whole universe (just in case I didn't like the film, but I did). Here it is:
The cork comes out!
