I appreciate your honesty and respect your opinion. I disagree but I also know you wouldn't bother if you didn't think it was worth it.
Part of the point was that Belle would act out of character when rattled. It's not, however, out of character for her to think she knows better (hence telling Ben to turn off his phone). And Peter wasn't the first person she called, it was still Ben. The show itself has shown she doesn't always know best. Maybe not to this extent but it's not unprecedented.
Peter was her savior but not in the traditional sense. Had his supervisor not walked in when he did, Peter would have done a lot more damage, possibly killing him. He's getting better, but still has anger management issues.
Yes, it's cliche but I'm okay with that. Chiches have hung around for a reason. They haven't moved forward in this relationship, they are just back to where they were. He's still paying her for sex, she still isn't telling him anything more about her (so far).
I do hope you keep reading but I will warn you, this is a romantic piece and things are going to change in their relationship starting with the next chapter. That being said, this isn't a "normal" relationship either. It can't be. And it won't all be sunshine and lollipops. I promise. But it will be fluff-tastic for bit.
