Meme of Five: Students and Giggles

jesidres, who cheated and picked two. Tsk, tsk. Whatever shall we do with you?
Five favorite excuses from students.
1. "I forgot my notes." They have been told since the beginning of the semester they can use any notes they took on the midterm. I'll always have one that says this.
2. "Can I try again?" I've told them for weeks and even right before they do it, they get one chance on the timed writing. Someone will always ask.
3. Not an excuse per se, but I had a student who was pregnant and she told me she would be due at some point during the semester. I ask if you know you're going to miss, to email or call me. She called me from recovery after her c-section. I told her that would have been fine to wait and call me. She told me later she didn't remember making any calls but her mom told her she did many strange things.
4. This one was recent and new: "I turned 21 and was really hung over last class."
5. "I didn't know." They get a sheet saying what lessons we cover for the whole semester and which week on the first day of class.
Five things that make you giggle.
1. Cute boys doing cute/sexy things. (See David Tennant eating ice cream.)
2. My cat being dippy. She snored hard enough on Sunday to shake the floor of the living room.
3. Hearing a song that reminds me of a scene from a show or a fic that is usually smutty in nature.
4. During Convention, we get more and more sleep deprived. Towards the end of the week, everything makes you giggle.
5. Thinking about anything than what I'm supposed to be paying attention to. Like Eddie Izzard while someone else is talking.
