Convention 2008: Day .5

I say .5 because really everything starts tomorrow. It's just easier to check in the night before (it only costs $30 more and then you're here).
I should be asleep but you all were so chatty that I had to get to Skip 120 just to catch up on stuff and I left the house at 2:30! So, yeah, I won't be able to keep up this week. If you see something or post something important, drop me a line to let me know.
The drive was fine. Google Maps took me on the back roads. Which I normally don't mind but I don't know these back roads. I only hit one detour and missed two turns, which I quickly corrected. It took about 2 3/4 hours. Not bad at all.
The dorm we are in is haunted. But apparently not on our floor and she leaves the girls alone. That being said, there are parts of this place (read most of the 1st floor) that is super creepy.
Gentle is already losing his mind. He's already come to Jen and I to decompress tonight. We have a feeling this will be a regular thing.
After hanging for a bit, we went to a local bar/dive on Gentle's recommendation for dinner. It was good. The waiter was cute and my cherry Coke (made with grenadine, of course) seemed to get more refills than anyone else. I'm not complaining.
Then we made a, what I'm sure will be the first of many, trip to Wal-Mart. I didn't need anything, but Shannon was driving and so Jen and I tagged along.
As it's the first night, not much is happening. I'm just catching up. I'm very happy to be here. Fu's first question to me was, "Have you seen the Ear office?" No, Kevin. I've been with my friends.
OH! Speaking of Fu, here's a special treat for those of you who've read this far: Fu's sister did the casting and he dad was actually in The Dark Knight! And those tidbits are the only things that actually make me want to see that movie before it's on cable.
The news on TE is less than encouraging. So, Jen and I may be doing some serious work on that.
It will be nice to see everyone who's on their way.
I really should sleep as I'm nodding off typing this. And it's early in the week!
Until tomorrow!
