I know I've been scarce and for good reasons I won't go into right now.

Anyways, things!

First, my fellow romance readers (of which there seems to be quite a few of us, we should form a club)! I finished off the Bridgertons yesterday morning and promptly moved onto Kleypas' Wallflowers. I figure I should get all the big series out of the way.

On that note, thanks to scouring the used books stores, I have only three Julia Quinn's and four Lisa Kleypas' until I have all their books. I also completed the set of Simply books by Mary Balogh but I know her catalog is so extensive, I may never get all her books. As it stands, I have stacks and stacks of stuff I need to read. I may try to finish off the Stephanie Laurens as well. At least the Cynster ones. I started the series, I feel like I should finish it. I have most of the Bastion Club books but have yet to read any of them.

Continuing on that theme, I have oodles of romance novels (and assorted others). And once I buy I book, I tend to keep them. That being said, I'd be willing to lend them out (call it Sara's Library if you will) if anyone would be interested.

Cheap Thrills:
Spent the end of last week in Chicago for my mom's birthday. The five of you following my Twitter feed saw what we were up to. I need to upload the pictures at some point. A good start at that would be getting them off my camera! Highlights: A Blue Man touched me. I touched a Blue Man. Got hit on by a cute, curly haired English boy named Jeffery at Harry Potter exhibit (it was lacking in Tennant-y goodness but otherwise fantastic). No freaky big eyed medieval paintings at the art museum (they are building a new section for them)! I always feel like they are going to crawl out of the portraits and eat me.

Emmy noms this morning!
NPH is hosting and is nominated. You know who's not nomed? Jeremy Piven! HA!
Also up: Bleeding Love, Mercy and A Los Amigos from SYTYCD! That last one was the Argentine Tango by one Mr. Dmitry Chaplin! I'm so proud! In other categories: Justin Timberlake is up for best guest actor for his SNL hosting duties (well deserved) as well as "Motherlover" from the episode for song!

The (pleasant) shocks: Family Guy and HIMYM are up for best comedy! Good for Seth! This is the first time since 1961 an animated show is up in that category (the last one was The Flintstones and they won). And every "lead" on 30 Rock!

And the latest cheap thrill: I wrote a comment to Murray Gold on Twitter and he wrote back! It's the little things. Really it is.

If you've made it this far and live in California, I need you!
In a week and a half I'm coming to your state for a convention. UC Davis to be exact. My question is this: how badly will I melt? Is it a dry heat (like an oven) or humid (like a sauna)? How long will it take me to adjust to the time difference?

I've been "in training" for staying up late by watching Adult Swim at least through The Venture Brothers and now the Big Brother feeds.

If you'd like to know what's happening while I'm away, feel free to follow my Twitter (I'll be updating for a friend who can't go this year as she's in Italy on a Fullbright scholarship. Tough life for her, I know.)

UC Davis is a bit north of here...but usually we have a very dry heat. Which I think is way easier to deal with...but I've always lived with that, and hate humidity, so I'm biased. Heh. And the time diff shouldn't be a big deal honestly. Just stay up the first night and you should get over it right away.

I would rather deal with a dry heat. I hate humidity. Plus, I have curly hair. Anyways, the year we were at Oklahoma, it was very hot but very dry and it didn't bother me. Still, I'm heat wimp and loudly complain about it any chance I get. Thank you!

Ha! Stay up late. Yeah, during convention that's a requirement. Like average bedtime is 3 AM. Which in this case would be like 6 AM for me. Add to that a lot of people won't be going this year, which means extra work! I and willingly pay money to do this every year!

So what were you thoughts on the Bridgertons series?

Of the brothers, Colin is my favorite, hands down. Of the sisters, Daphne is it. Of the spouses, Kate rules everything ever with Penelope following close behind.

I couldn't pin point my favorite book, because most of the were fantastic.

By the time her book rolled around, I couldn't stand Hyacinth. It was cute when she was 10. It was annoying when she was 23. So her book is the only one I really disliked and it wasn't Gareth's fault. I loved him.

I kind of wished we got to see more of the whole family in Gregory's book as it was the last. But I suppose that's what the second epiloges were/are for.

It's fair to say I really liked them.

I love Colin/Penelope as well.

What did you think of Lady Danbury?

I only now realized I hadn't responded to this! so far behind n so many things.

I loved Lady Danbury but I don't think Hyacinth is a worthy successor to her crown. That should go to Penelope.
