Let's talk fall tv. I'm mostly sticking to the same shows as always. However, there's a few new shows I'm watching. The Cleveland Show isn't as good as it's predecessor, but it saves me from changing the channel between The Simpsons and Family Guy. Cougar Town is hilarious, and it's not just extended Friends-love for Courtney Cox. I quite like Flashforward. And Penny, it's completely understadable that if you're going to cheat on Desmond, that it's with Jack Davenport (yes, I'm ignoring the pretty-boy Finnes brother for this example). No one can fault you for that. (And I knew Charlie was evil! I never liked Charlie during any of Lost, but that's not the point of this post.)

However, my main love of the new season is Glee. I simply adore it's over-the-top campness. There are some characters I like more than others. There is one I can't stand (Teri). There's those I have mixed feelings on (Quin, Rachel, Finn, Sue). There are those I really like (Artie, Mercedes). And those I love (Kurt, Will, Ken, Sue's journal). But my favorite is unashamedly Puck. Even with his lame little mohawk (which I hear will be disappearing). If I didn't already like him enough, there's a couple of YouTube videos of sneak previews of songs for this week. My love for him is sealed with the following clip.

You must understand, I have a strange love for belting songs of the 70's. (If I ever actually do karaoke, my song of choice will be "Nobody Does it Better" by Carly Simon.) "Sweet Caroline" is a particular favorite. It's now sung by my favorite character (and he's playing the guitar! Chicks dig musicians). And the group sings the "da da dah!"s This makes me ridiculously happy.

Okay, that is all. Go about your business. I'll be back later in the week to put out the call for Disney postcards.

I think the show is more successful when they're doing songs from the 70's. I've really enjoyed some of the modern music (No Air, Golddigger), but there's just something special about the older stuff. Maybe it's that literally all of America knows it, and I feel a sense of camaraderie? I don't know the show tunes that they do, and my parents don't know the modern music. But the 70s, we know.

I totally agree. I love this show to death! While the plot isn't that great, I'll continue watching it, if only for the absolutely fabulous music. I love Will. I dunno why he married a crazy woman like Teri (who I also very much dislike), but he's awesome. His and Sue's dynamics were hysterical though. And I can't wait for some of the upcoming epsidoes. I dunno if you're a fan of Joss Whedon, but he's going to be directing one of the future episodes! Which will be fantastic. He did a musical episode of Buffy (for which he wrote all of the music and it was brilliant) and of course, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog. So it should be great!
