'cause everyone else is doing it and I haven't done in meme in AGES

Comment with any ship (romantic or platonic or maybe even non-existent!) from a fandom that you know I have some knowledge about, and I will rant about aforementioned ship. This may be incoherent gushing or exclamations of disgust, depending on your ship of choice.

Things what I watch/know about: Doctor Who, Community, Robin Hood, True Blood, Glee, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Game of Thrones (though I still don't know all the characters fully yet), The Borgias, How I Met Your Mother, Mike & Molly, Cougar Town, 30 Rock, SNL, Green Wing, Ashes to Ashes, Being Human, Lost in Translation, Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, Lost, Buffy, Harry Potter, and other stuff that I can't think of at the moment, but really isn't that enough?

Since I know from a previous comment that you ship Eric/Sookie (Awesome btw), I don't need to ask about that.

So let's see: Buffy/Spike? and Remus/Tonks?

I so started to respond to this last night and I hit something and lost the whole comment. I was to tired to care at that point. Anyway, Buffy/Spike:

I shipped them before S4. That's before Something Blue and everything that followed. I was a Spike fan from the beginning. I was a Spike lover when he walked down the street in Halloween and said it was neat. And I've always loved Buffy. So them together was just...neat!

Spike, unlike Angel, loved Buffy not in spite of what she was but because of it. To begin with at least. If that were to all go away, he still would have loved her.

Even after reading the S8 comics, Angel was manipulated and therefore manpulated Buffy into something they weren't and was evil. Meanwhile, Spike was just Spike and everything they had was still there.

Spike changed into something he thought Buffy would want and not because she asked. Though she did appreciate it. Giving the choice to spend the night with anyone (including Angel) she wanted on the possible last night of her life, she chose Spike. When she said she loved him in the finale, I don't think she was telling him what he wanted to hear. I think she just realized it herself. And he I think he knew she meant it. He just wouldn't let her sacrifice herself for him.

In conclusion: Spike/Buffy=Sexy, Happy, Good Times

So I like totally forgot I asked and then never checked your response...sorry. Bad ljfriend!

I loved Spike too from the beginning. Like from the moment he gave his "Woodstock" speech I thought he was cool. And then when he turned to look at Drusilla and easily slid from his vampire face, I was "Awww he's so sweet and so cute and sexy!" I'm not much a Spike/Dru fan beyond thinking they were fun to watch in S2, but the fact that he immediately dropped his mask for Dru (who, frankly, would have preferred his monster side) and showed his human looks told me that he was different from other vamps and could be both loving and tough and therefore more interesting. As oppose to some lame vamps who are only fun when they've lost their soul.

I think the first time I came into liking the idea of Spike & Buffy was the moment he beat up that cop and then said "Hello Cutie" in the S2 finale. It was like something clicked, but soon Spike was gone, and I had to wait until S4 to really get something from it.

Definitely agree on the idea that she did love him. No way could she have gone through the moments in Touched through Chosen without admitting to herself that she loved him. That speech alone in Touched should have done the trick. Plus, he was the only one to stick up for her. She loved him, and by his reaction I say he did believe, but yes, he had to get her to go.

Remus/Tonks. I read the books after seeing the first four movies and at the time, Remus made no impression on me. Then reading the third book, I was completely in love with the rumpled werewolf. And Tonks was awesome right away. When it was revealed she was in love with Remus, my response was, "Of course. Who wouldn't be?"

And I had to respect why he didn't persue her. He thought she deserved better. Which is always the formula for the truly great loves. She knew there wasn't any better. Even when he went barmy in Deathly Hallows, I hated him for it but understood. Also, being two of three favorite characters in the books, I was fine with their fate as it was the last book. Last in the series, you can kill everyone off, I'm cool. If your curious, Serius was my other fave and yes, I have issues he died when he did. (The only thing I truly disliked about the last book had nothing to do with pairings, btw.)

I would have loved for them to live and raise Teddy but at least they went together.

I don't know if is the fact that I favor werewolf characters or if Remus was giving off some kind of sexy professor vibe, but I loved him from the moment he appeared in the third book. I can't remember if I was told by a friend that he was a werewolf before I started reading, but seeing as I know a lot about wolves, I'm sure I'd pick it up from his name anyway.

I have more to say about Remus/Tonks, but I'll save it because they are one of my shipping challenge responses, and I hate when I get repetitive which I often do when talking about my ships.

I can't deal with death well even if in the final book of a series. Seventh book broke me.

P.S. I like your icon. The Doctor is such a Ravenclaw...that or he's Barty Crouch, Jr.
